Australian Supercross superstar and ADB columnist Chad Reed is rumoured to be in talks with the Roger Decoster run Rockstar Makita Suzuki Factory Racing team in the USA. With Reedy's contract with Yamaha reaching its expiry date, new contract negotiations are high on his agenda. However with his three-year commitment to personally race in the new Australasian Supercross Championship, dubbed "Chad Reed's Super X", there's sure to be a more than a few conditions attached to any new deal.
Rather than simply ride for a manufacturer like the majority of factory riders, Chad will no doubt seek to retain maximum control over his career as team owner/manager, as he does now with his San Manuel Yamaha team.
Reed's Australian-based
PR representative, Matt Cousins of Fluid
PR could not confirm the rumour but did indicate that Reed was likely to be currently in talks with a number of different manufacturers.
"I'm sure he's talking to many different parties because he'd be stupid not to!" Said Cousins.
Stay tuned to adbmag.com for the latest news on ADB's own Chad Reed as it comes to hand.
