Brad has always wore one. In one race it fell off and he said he felt like he was riding naked. He wears the EVS donut that is independent of the chest protector or helmet. I'm NOT 100% positive what effect they have during a crash, but most football players who ARE being paid millions OF dollars ALL seem TO wear them, so there must be a reason FOR it. I think it's like wearing a seat belt in a car.......there are documented accidents where you would be better off not wearing a seat belt, but those are very rare. I think a neck role is the same way. It is going to protect you more than hurt you.
As far as looking gay.....I know a lot kids who wish they could ride like Millsaps. Does he look gay
