DaveJ: I went over the bars and tried to do a "tuck and roll." Unfortunately, I didn't have the rotation speed, AND I rolled IN the air ONLY far enough TO land ON the back OF my head IN the whoops. My head was forced down INTO my chest. I guess my neck will ONLY bend so far before it grenades. I knew WHEN I hit that I broke my back. The feeling IS unmistakeable. AND I couldn't breathe very well after that. And I had lappers coming at me hard through the whoop section. It was an ugly scene.
