Re: Cardio Training Tip (the “no load” to “full load” scenario)

Well, this is interesting!
I train with a HR monitor regularly. I train on a road bicycle and workout on a bowflex. On the bicycle, my max HR average over the last 3 months has been 200 and the average around 169. On the Bowflex 95 avg. 115 max avg. Durring moto's the max has been near 210 and an average of 175. Resting HR is 50-55.
I have noticed on a couple of cycling workouts my max HR spiked to 225 plus. The first time, I didnt take it seriously. I thought that it was just a blip thing. The next day it happened again. It usually is quick maybe 5 to 10 seconds, and it happens near the end of my workouts. This happened in June durring 90 degree weather. Both days I rode 20 miles at an average speed of 18 mph with a max speed of 25 in spurts. It seems every couple of weeks I experiance it.

This article may have shed some light on the mystery HR spikes.. I guess I should take it serious and warm up better.

Good Reading, Thanks for the post MotoDoc.....
