Maybe get your suspension dialed in to your weight etc... SAVE you money for maintenance,,frequent valve checks/adjustments etc......Or like CHAD said drop 5 k as fast as ya can.....

Re: Stock '08 Z250f
My riding buddy Eric and I always get a good laugh while joking around about modifying our bikes. "Hey Eric, when are you going to get that Pro Circuit stage 2 head for your CRF?" "I'd better pull that valve cover to check those valves again... it's been at least 10 hours since I last checked them." "How much faster would I be if I only had some of those fancy triple clamps?" "Are you still running the stock clutch perch? That's why you can't clear that double!" These are the kinds of statements that some people speak in all seriousness, but we are just cracking each other up. Only a complete tool would think that an 08 needs anything, other than a great rider, to haul some serious bootay. In the days of steel bars and no crossbar pad, you wanted to make a few mods. Today, break it in right, warm it up right (don't rev it like you're afraid it's going to foul the plug... it won't), and then enjoy. Try not to crash it too often. And Yamaha's need the steering stem regreased a lot more often than Honda's (they don't seal out the water as well I guess), so you'll have to do that at least once a year. And if it's cold out (like under 60 degrees) I always turn the fuel screw out a third of a turn and go up one size on the main jet (it makes the bike faster and the engine last longer... win, win). Like others have said, save your money for tires and practice fees.

Re: Stock '08 YZ250f
Here what she looks like now...
I still have plenty of anodized parts to install to enhance my jumping, cornering, and wheelies!
I don't necessarily want to upgade my bike because I think it will make up for all of my short comings, but I do like making improvements because I am a total nerd about bells and whistles. I could never ride a stock bike to its full potential, let alone a fully mod one, but I am still into having a bike that I can be excited about. Graphics may seem like something fully cosmetic, but they also protect your plastics. I think the rear fender is key to have covered so everytime you step over your bike you don't scratch it up with your boots.
Function is key, and if I'm not fast at least I can look good.

Re: Stock '08 Z250f
Bike looks pretty sick. Look good, go good - right? I will be installing some new MDK UFC Xyience graphics as soon as I buy some new plastics. Hopefully I will be able to ride a little faster and jump littler farther after they are installed LOL!
Did you do the numbers yourself or are they pre-printed?
They look really nice.

Thanks! Those are backgrounds and numbers. Got a little crafty in the garage one night.
New graphics and plastics = 10% speed increase!

You have to upload the pic. Check out the sticky thread at the top of the forum. It should help you to post your pic.
