Good job Motowest!
I was glad to hear that Sandhill actually had a working starting gate. I will be the first to thank Matt and his crew for stepping it up this weekend. Everyone I talked to about the race yesterday was impressed by how smooth everything worked out, and how the track was prepped and maintained well. Keep up the good work Motowest, and thanks for listening to us NorCal'rs!

Re: Good job Motowest!
I also appologize to Matt and his team if I was a little critical before the Sandhill race. We just all know the potential of Sandhill, and were hoping to see it back to its prime again. This last weekend was a giant step in the right direction. I really hope Tom and his crew were taking notes. What do you guys think?

Re: Good job Motowest!
If Sandhill would relearn how to build a jump the place would be bad ass. I just don't get the kicker type faces on 18 inch jumps. I think as I walk away from this weekend ,the start leaves the fondest memories. Probably one of the most technical starts around . Your gate pick and trying to get the best traction possible going up that hill made the start one of the best obstacles on the course.

Re: Good job Motowest!
I have heard what a FANTASTIC job Matt and the Motowest Crew did......
BUT, and this is NOT their fault....all I've heard is how bad the jumps were. I rode there a month ago, and would have to agree, if they hadn't changed them since. It would almost have been better had they NOT put those little jumps in. Come onnnnnn SH, you HAVE the equipment, use it !

Good job Motowest you guy's stepped it up. I wish Sandhill had a step up or take the little BMX jumps in the front and make one bigger table out of them. I'm not trying to bash them but let's hope they read this and do something with it, Motowest did and look at the good remarks they are getting put a little hard work in and get alot look at the turn out.. Again good job Matt and Motowest.

Re: Good job Motowest!
I just thought I'd throw this FYI out there...
The regular Sand Hill crew did the prep this last weekend. So, they are the ones to thank for the prep. No doubt they put some extra effort into it for the race, which is more than they sometimes do for regular practice.
Motowest is still deserving of much praise for the way they ran the races (as I've said in two other posts). They ran things like clockwork and I found all their staff to be very nice, friendly, talkative, etc.
Oh yeah... Motowest also gets credit for putting in the starting gate.
As for the jumps down by the stands... it's really the first one that is the problem. It is way to short for the height and trajectory of the take off. So, it requires some skill to scrub it correctly. I actually found that was a good place to close in on less skilled riders as they were bouncing through there, versus staying low, sucking up the faces, and driving through that whole section.
Anyway... yes, those few jumps could use some reworking to be ideal. The rest of the layout I think is super fun.

Re: Good job Motowest!
My oldest son loved the track layout. He said it was the most fun he has had at SH in a long time. The start was awesome, I thought it challenging and was a make or break start(for the record my son had terrible starts, and it was a good lesson on how important starts are)The tables along the stands was good for the 50's and 65's but not really sure about the bigger bikes. I think Motowest has been doing a good job with the races, the only thing I would say is that they might be starting the races a little to soon. At Hollister my son had to go around quads during a moto, and this past week he almost got taking out by a rider that was leaving the track after there moto. But I do understand that they are trying to get all 27 moto's done before dark. Also was the anouncment after practice Saturday really needed. I know it wasn't Motowest, it was the SH guys but it wasn't really needed.
