Honey Lake LLQ

This next weekend is the LLQ at Honey Lake MX and I'm going. Not because I'm fast, but because I've always heard great things about this track and I assumed some nearly full gates.........assumed.
I looked up last years results and in my class, 40+ there were only 5 entries. After looking at other area qaulifier results, it looks like this class just does not draw many entries. Any thoughts on why this is?
Another question, I looked at the race schedule and I'm still not clear if we will run moto 1 on Saturday and then 2 on Sunday? It looks like some classes will run both motos on one day?
Regardless, I'll be there on Thursday night through Sunday, having fun and selling shirts no matter how many 40+ entries show up. Can we at least get 15 of us?? Please.
Any more advice you guys and gals have for me would be appreciated.

Re: Honey Lake LLQ

I have raced this the past 2 years and your class will have both motos run on the same day unless they changed something from last year. some classes run on sat and some on sun but they dont split it. you can figure out which day here: MX Sports - Loretta Lynn's AMA Amateur National Motocross Championships it sucks i cant go this year its a awesome race. but as for the low turnout i dont know last year in schoolboy there was only like 13 of us but the C classes always have the biggest turnout.

Re: Honey Lake LLQ

The problem that keeps the riders away from the +40 class at the LL area qualifier is that there is no skill level distinction. All +40 riders race together. If you are not an expert you have no chance and will get lapped.
We usually have 15-20 riders in the +40 jr class at Fernley. If you are looking for a full gate of +40 riders you should come to one of our races. At our 2/15 race we had 30 riders in +40jr, 6 riders in +40int and 5 riders in +40exp. The exp and int went on the first gate and the jr went on the second gate.
The next race at the Fern is 3/30. The same day as the LLaq at Honey Lake.
Good luck at Honey Lake.

Re: Honey Lake LLQ

I'll be stuck in Escondido, CA Wednesday night, so on Thursday morning I'll drive up to Honey Lake for the weekend. Something like a 10hour drive... all alone. Fun stuff.
