I agree with you on Argyll. I'd be there a lot if it wasn't a 2+ hour drive. I'll have to settle for Riverfront. Cylceland opens for weeknight practice in June, so there will be another option then. You guys should come up to Cycleland sometime. Rick and Steve came for an open practice and liked it a lot.

Re: Riverfront bashing

HEY!!!! Great idea for you guys that dont like the track, go buy 10 acres, rent some equipment, build your own, that should only cost you about 3000.00 a month and you could have a bitchin track, of course you might not have time to ride, neighbors might try to shut you down, insurance for your friends to ride might cost you a little more, but you could have that bitchen, perfect track to ride, hell come to my house, bring the dozer and watertruck and you can prep my outdoor, or my arena cross, or my 1/8th mile oval, or my grasstrack and ride, personally i thank scott, mike or any track operator that puts up with the bull**** they do, and give us a place to have have fun and bull**** with friends, i have 10 acres in wheatland, elevation changes, start straits, big doubles, but prepping is so much work, i like r/f for a night ride anytime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!blah blah blah!!!!!!!!!

please step down from the soap box! you might fall and hurt yourself. I'd kill to have your problems(10acres!??). Prepping is work, Thats why track promoters charge you to get in. Its not like they are doing it for free, if they werent making a profit, they wouldnt be doing it.

Re: Riverfront bashing

your so right eljif! that place is so minimally prepped! it is a pathetic pile, horrible. those guys that run that place just dont care.. i think it just boils down to laziness. and that back track, give me a break.
i was thinkin though eljif, maybe you could spend more time analizing your own riding rather than the guys riding the tractors and you might not look so awkward on a motorcycle. just a thought...

see ya there on thursday!

First of all a rider pays 20 dollars to ride an atleast decent prepped track, i mean if he wasnt making any profit out of it then it wouldnt be open. Second, if you are going to run a track you know how much ti takes to prep it and actually have it nice but if your not willing to do so then dont freakin do it or have him settle for only one track if two of them are too hard too handle. Third, mike sexton is running two great tracks, incredibly busy every single time they are open and the prep and maintenance on BOTH tracks are great, you never hear anyone settling for less at either club moto or argyll, i mean common im sure youve read all of the controversie with the track every time somebody opens a water hose...(just exagerating guys, calm down). I think its sad that riders are paying their money ( wasting their money) on a track that is not prepped and HAVE to settle for less because there is no where else close to ride.. its just unfair to the riders that pay their salaries..

Re: Riverfront bashing

i like riverfront every time we go there, and i give scott and his crew alot of credit for running both tracks with back to back races at both of the tracks and still have time to prep the tracks on weeknights..plus i heard about the riverfront cards they are handing out (for free) and after 10 rides on the card you get one practice for free..also the women racing for free..just that alone i've saved so much money..i'll gladly hand over 20 bucks every practice and LOVE IT. but that's just me..if you don't like..then don't go..more room for ME.

After every ten rides at Argyll and Club Moto you get one free also. PLUS the tracks are prepped beautifully EVERY time. There is no excuse for any track not to prep and prep it well every time they are open. The only excuse I would except is weather related or a broken machine. If we are paying to ride than they have an obligation to have the track prepped and watered. If you own two tracks and are neglecting one of them than don't own two tracks. Don't use the excuse that you don't have the time. If that's the case don't run back to back races or have both places open on the same day. If Raul my landscaper only cut half my lawn and didn't water the roses I would be pissed off and sure the hell wouldn't pay him. Now before any of you that religiously defend the Marysville tracks get all upset I'm not picking on them. I happen to enjoy going to both Estreet and Riverfront and every time we have been there the prep has been very good. However we haven't been there in months and a lot can change in that short amount of time as many have stated. The problem I have with the above quote is that you're basically saying that because you get one free ride for every $200 spent, race for free and let's not forget how busy the owner is, it's okay for them to neglect the track. Boo fricking Hoo. If everyone had that same let me be your whipping boy mind set the tracks would never be prepped and the prices would go up. It's the riders that don't kiss the owners ass and speak a true opinion that have the most credibility and get more accomplished. With that being said, let the arguments begin!

I don't like gas prices, should I go and buy an Oil Refinery? You make a really dumb argument. These tracks are in business to make a profit, when they don't put out a 100% effort I feel cheated. It's as simple as that!

Re: Riverfront bashing

first of all, i never said that i like riverfront because i save money..although it's nice, but personally everytime i go there the prep is great, nice ruts, tacky..yadda yadda. i know everyone is going to have their own opinion on how the prep was and how it should be..and i am no expert by any means but i was just saying i think the scott and his crew do a good job everytime i'm there and I give them credit..don't really care if you do or anyone eles.. end of story. p.s i would be lucky if i could ever make it out to club moto i have always wanted to go there especially now that the sextons are running it, but i live to far away..
