Honda owners beware!

Be very careful not to mix up your fork protector bolts with your disc guard bolts. The disc guard bolts are silver and about 1/4 inch longer. Your lower fork leg can easily be ruined if you swap them out. That extra 1/4 inch pinches the lower fork leg against the fork spring and bottoming cone inside the fork. You probably wouln't notice anything untill you go to service your forks and the spring won't come out of the lower tube. Unfortunately I see this almost every week, and I hate making the call to cutomers and breaking the bad news to them.

Excellent tip Jon thanks!

I'm sure if it is that common, other suspension guys see this all the time a well.

Kudos to you for putting this out!

Re: Honda owners beware!

This could also lead to stripped threads by using the long bolt where the short bolt goes and vise-versa.....I'll use blue lock tight and a little less torque.
