Re: Sprocket ripped from stock hub?

I know a guy that destroyed his 08 crf 450 hub, chain and guide. But he's one of those guys who loves to tinker on his **** and always ends up screwing something up.

Re: Sprocket ripped from stock hub?

yup happened to my 07 yzf 450.. had to get a new hub, chain and relace the rim of course and my swingarm still has a huge chunk missing out of it.this was due to 2 of the sprockets bolts falling out...did you lose sprocket bolts as well? i never heard of it just ripping of without some one losing bolts.

Re: Sprocket ripped from stock hub?

You definitely have to use red Loctite with the TI bolt kit.

Re: Sprocket ripped from stock hub?

I blew up my rear hub on my 07 yz450 last week. It looks like my sprocket bolts got loose and then all hell broke loose, broke hub, sprocket, chain, chain guide, 8-10 large gouges in swing arm. I loctited and tourqued them prior to the previous ride.

Re: Sprocket ripped from stock hub?

Yeah I've done it too. I didn't loctite my sprocket bolts on with red loctite the sprocket tore the hub up and ruined my chain guide, chain, clutch master cylinder. It wasn't cheap to fix. Then the next ride my transmission broke a gear. I'm sure it had something to do with the abrupt stoppage of the rear wheel. Learned a big lesson on that one.

Always check and loctite those sprocket bolts , they have always been a problem!
