Re: Infineon!

you really cant even compare it to a local race... this is gunna be a national caliper race with national caliper riders. its not your local hodunk race. go to world minis and see how much it costs. or even the honey lake LL qualifiers. Its like 200 bucks just for gate fees for the weekend for 2 people! plus 70 bucks a class! the only reason the gate fee is high here is because with that pass you can go watch superbikes and supermoto. they cant charge seperate gate fees for 3 seperate events. that wouldnt work. the track is better then any track in norcal. the track is so long you guys wont even be able to last 6 laps. you should be praying the races are only 3 laps.... they wont be 3 laps im just saying the track is gunna get rough and rutted and its gunna be challenging which means not everyone will be able to go fast on it like all the other tracks around here... at a local race if you race 1 class you maybe get 2 6 or 7 minute motos. and mike, you probaly pay 30 bucks in gas to go race hangtown plus the 10 bucks to get in plus the 35 dollar entry fee so its about the same. id say you guys just need to sack up and support a guy who is trying to bring motocross back to infineon. but hey if you guys dont go and support it you can blame yourselfs for it not being as successful as it could be. you guys always complain about tracks shutting down and now some of you are not even gunna support a new track. but whatever thats just MY opinion. Oh ya this post wasnt directed towards any one person it was directed to everyone complaining! see ya at the track!

I think Rob should sponsor all of us! I hear he sweeps a mean gate!
Don't let my concerns stop anyone else from going. As said, the track will likely be great, and with the "all access pass," you'll have something to do between motos. So, I don't think this is any kind of a rip off.

for me, I evaluate whether I'm going to race mostly from a time in the saddle perspective. I've raced so many times in my life, I'm kinda over it. (in my teens and early 20's, I was lined up behind a gate on Friday night, Saturday (if there was a race somewhere) and Sunday each weekend, usually two classes). Thus, I only race now if I know the guys I"m racing with (they are clean and not all over the track), I know the track is super fun, and I know I'm going to get a good number of laps. If not, I prefer to spend the whole day riding somewhere else, and get in enough laps that I'm sore the next day. But hey, that's just me.

Anyway, I'm sure that's way more info than anyone wants to know. But, I say that, as I don't want to piss on Infineon's parade, or influence anyone not to go, as my reasons for racing may be different than others. For those that are into racing, seeing differet tracks (especially one that only runs every blue moon, if that) I'm sure it will be a great time!!... and they should definately go!

Re: Infineon!

Im making my decision purely on financial situations at this time. (Mostly GAS GAS GAS!!! $90 roundtrip to Napa each day) It has nothing to do with not supporting the sport and not wanting to pay the gate fee. I agree this is a AWESOME OPPORTUNITY to race a great track and it is cheap in comparison to others, but its still going to be way too much money overall for me to spend 3 days racing. If I was a single guy and could drop $500 on a moments notice I would and Im only a beginner rider basically in comparison with the others that would be out there. I'd have my a$$ handed to me but I would have a damn good time doing it!!!! I can see that just from looking at the track layout. But I have to deal with reality and my reality is $$$$ right now.

Re: Infineon!

If this event doesn't get a good turnout it is no ones fault but the promoter. I have not seen one word about this event on any big moto sites yet, people in so-cal have hardly heard that it is happening. If it wasn't for this site I wouldn't even know.

As far as pricing they are the same as any other event. You just have to pay for a pass to a national event. It is way way cheaper than a national event!!!! Look at the fees for Hangtown if you race and get to watch the national, those are high! Not saying it is cheap, but it isn't much different than even a local race.

If I didn't have a very important graduation to go to I would be there to clean up that $25,000.

Re: Infineon!

I apparently have had this thing since I was born but it is just so big now that it causes a problem to ride! Cycleland made it WAY WAY worse becasue I broke the bone off in my leg! So I have these pieces of bone cutting my leg from the inside!

I wont have my bike back untill this weekend! So I am gonna try and make it to next Wednesday...but i will be riding really easy as a way of not falling! My surgery got pushed way back now since I have to go to a specialist, and i can go that long without riding at least a little bit! I will hit you up soon!

Oh yeah Ryan can you pm me your phone number again, I tried to call you and it didnt work I think I put it in my phone wrong!

You make a very good point.............I have not seen flyers in my local shop (like I do for Hangtown or even the "X-treme summercross" in Red Bluff) Have these guys called transworld MX? It seems to me that $25K purse is worth the drive for an So Cal pro, yet the pro signups dont reflect any big names like I would have thought. They should be sending press releases to all the moto mags (and all the local newspapers for that matter)

Re: Infineon!

For the guys that are going to be there you have to go check out the supermoto race up on the go kart track if you think MX is expensive the Fast guys in supermoto are spending 350 on a set of tires that last 1 race. I raced supermoto last year and it was fun. you guys should go check it out.

Re: Infineon!

Argyll has a race date that weekend, and will be taking it in the shorts since this race got on the Argyll Spring series date. You could support your local track at Argyll.
