Try cleaning out the jets with some compressed air. I had the exact same problem with a bike that had been in the shop for a while and that did the trick.

If the bike has been stored more then a month, the pilot jet is probably clogged. The pump gas we have these days is horrible on the carb if it sits in their too long.

I don't see it as much with race gas, accept for U-4. It has got real bad the last few years, I'm not sure what the additives in the fual are, but it turns the brass jets into green slime in no time. It doesn't seem as bad in the two smokers, most likely from the lube in the fuel.

Makes ya wonder Huh? Do you recommend race gas for normal stock bikes? Or is it just a must when you get the compression all crazy etc? Never get a clear explanation on this issue. I start reading something then they get so technical it puts me to sleep....

Re: need help 2005 kx250f

Lets put it this way, we used PUMP gas on all of the SVM bikes during the SX season. I personally like to use race gas, because of its consisetency, but only HIGH compression motors really need it.
