Front Brake PROBLEMS!

Alright so i fell and some guy ran my bike over, and i couldnt figure out why my brakes weren't working, I tried everything. So I brought it to my local shop and they said the master cylinder was cracked. so they put a new master cylinder on, new brake pads, and put new fluid in and bled it. So I go and get the bike and they kind of fixed my problem but not really.

So now when i pull in my front brake it pulls in and the wheel stops but you have to pretty much pull it into the handle bar. I know thats not right. So I bled the crap out of my front brake and it got a little better but not much. Then I adjusted my front brake lever all the way out. That didnt do much. Then I bled it some more because in my manual it says to wait about an hour if you have problems bleeding the brake. So I did that and still nothing.

So if anyone knows anything about front brakes PLEASE tell me.

Re: Front Brake PROBLEMS!

Bleed it with a vacuum tool. Compress the lever against the grip tight with a zip tie and let it sit over night. It needs to be bled better.

Re: Front Brake PROBLEMS!

If it's a YZ make sure your front wheel spacers are on the right sides. (one is thinner than the other) The brakes will still work, but you have to pull the lever way in to get the brakes to engage. If everything is installed correctly, keep bleeding, you must still have some air in the line.

Re: Front Brake PROBLEMS!

Unless you changed the front axles or something i dont see how you could have the wrong axle, just keep re bleeding them, sounds like you still have air bubbles in the line

Re: Front Brake PROBLEMS!

yah i did change the axles, b/c i put 2007 forks and shock on this bike. Im pretty sure the axles are mixed up because the axle sticks out a little on the opposite side of the nut. on all my other bikes it doesnt stick out.

Re: Front Brake PROBLEMS!

What bike is it? Did you change the lever recently?
