Riding and our Economy.

I know we have all heard many rumors about our economy being garbage right now, and gas prices going through the roof and all, but has this really stoped any of you guys from riding as much as you wish you could or are there any other reasons or do you ride just as much as before as this whole economy thing? I really want to know about this and see what everyone thinks. I know i took a couple weeks of riding to save up and get back on my feet with the whole money situation but there were also some other factors that contributed to that so it really pops that question in my head? has this whole economy and gas prices affected our riding?

Re: Riding and our Economy.

"Rumors about the economy" ? Now WHO started those !?!?

Seriously.....the economy is in the tank. Our "entertainment funds" are being sucked dry by the oil industry, and it's only going to get worse. As I was driving to The Club this weekend, I saw less people towing boats and Jet Skis. There were less Campers on the road, and traffic was lite. Just a sign of things to come.

To fill up a 5 gallon gas can is ridiculous, let alone your truck....as we all know you can't bring a bike to the track in a Prius.

It's one of the MANY reasons that I really appreciate our loyal customers that come to The Club, and burn off some stress, even though getting there is costly. Thank you to all for helping us to stay open during these difficult times. We ALLLL need each other to survive through this....

So, thank you !

Yes,

I went to the Delta after stopping by Club and there weren't many boats or ski's on the water. I would like to possibly buy a off road bike, but can't see spending the gas money to go trail riding.

Re: Riding and our Economy.

for me to go riding costs about 80$ considering the closest track is 55 miles from my house track fee, gas for bike & truck also food & drinks Im cutting down to riding one day a week for a while.

Re: Riding and our Economy.

I try to ride atleast 2-3 timeas a week if I can, I have just cut back from going to hangtown and stuff to staying around here, I can drive to club and back saturday and sunday for the same amount of gas as it takes me to drive to hangtown and back 1 day, same with argyll, Ill go out to ht on a weekend and stay at one of my friends houses but its definatly not worth goin on a wed anymore, but lately ive only been getting 1 weekend day off since we've been shorthanded but we just hired someone so i should be able to ride more again, but unlike the older guys on here I dont have a rent or mortgage to pay since i live with my dad, so I can spend my money on gas and riding fees and parts

The weather on the delta this year has been horrible. Hard to tell whats having a bigger effect, the economy or the weather.
