Thats if you want a twostroke. I agree that a 450 is a good idea, if the bike has a little too much pop for him you can either go down a few teeth in the rear or what most do is put a flywheel on it until he gets used to it more than pull it off. You seem like you take good care of your bikes so a 450 would last you a long time hek there are guys riding 02-03 450's that have like 150 + hours on them and still haul a$$.. The honda's are all around nice bike the forks a bit harsh in the midstroke but easily fixable.. The yz450 is much smoother and easier to ride imo has great suspension and they are pretty much bulletproof. All the 450's are good bikes keep fresh oil and fresh air filer and they are imo easier to ride and last longer. Pater Brown has some good deals on yz's right now and there are alot of honda dealerships you can get good deal on with some wrenching.
Thanks for the advice Hoss,,,I have a call into Schlepp , see what he comes up with? I am super anal with oil changes, valves etc..So I guess it will probably come down to who has what deal? See ya soon....

I am just not sure if I should get him a big bike ? He is only 160lbs...Just weighing the advice and price options.. Thanks for the advice.....Hows married life?
The 450 will last longer and cost you less maintenance money than a 250t IMO. Most all the problems with the 4 strokes are with the 250fs. A top end for a 450 only cost $117 bucks if you shop around and unless you ride really a lot, one every 8 months or so will be more than enough. As far as your kid being big enough, he just needs to ride one and see. When I bought my first 450 I was 5'7" 150 pounds and was coming off a 125. I loved the tractor power of the 450 from the first time I rode it. I am still only 5'7" 165lbs and I don't feel to small at all for the bike. That and the cool thing about 450s are that you will never need to buy an aftermarket part for them. And if it is to fast than put a spark arrestor or heavy flywheel on it and now you have both a good race bike and a good trails bike.

But like I said you should have him ride one first. Come out to club I am sure he could ride Robs 250t, a 250f and a 450 back to back and see what one he likes best.

Oh and married life is the same as unmarried life. I just got to get used to calling her my wife and I got to somehow remember to put that damn ring on more often.
