Re: Reed NOT racing Steel City
Nayh... I think I'm gonna stay up all night and sweat over it!!!
After watching the link in that other thread about canard, it reminded me that he'll also hand Reeds butt to him, assuming Reed stays around for 2 more years to wait for the next crop to come up.

Re: Reed NOT racing Steel City
You guys are getting a little carried away here. Nobody's gonna argue that Bubba will be whoopin up on Reed whenever and wherever they race. But to say that Villo, Grant, J.Law, Canard and Dungey will be giving him fits............in Supercross.......are you guys high?
Outdoors, I will give you RV and maybe, (a big maybe) Dungey would probably beat Reed pretty regularly. But in Supercross, all of these guys have won a few LITES titles, some have won just a few LITES races. The ONLY past lites champs to beat Reed with any regularity are RC and Bubba and the rest of the field is waaaaaaaaay back. Millsaps is not close in speed, Tedesco - no, Langston - no. If you keep going back to lites SX champs you end up talking Jesseman, Preston, Fonseca, Pastrana.............None can match Reed's speed in Supercross. Maybe RV will get better at SX, but the rest will be waiting for Reed and Stewart to retire so they can fight for 2nd behind RV.
I am not a Reed fan! But when one of you threw Josh Grant out there, I had to respond. Josh Grant? Really? Seriously?
Just my 2 cents.

Re: Reed NOT racing Steel City
Don't for get about Windham. He gave Reed a hard time both years he won the title. Although with Bubba back I bet he loses motivation.

Re: Reed NOT racing Steel City
WINDHAM=WASHED UP, NO HEART, LOSER DISGRACE. Dont even bring him into this.
All I see when I look at reed are these bad boys.
Astronauts actually reported a sighting of them from the International Space Station

True, I think Villo is a new breed of Lites rider moving up to finally challenge Bubba and Reed but they will need some time. If RV even has a win by Round 8, if at all, I would be surprised. But Tedesco, Langston, Millsaps are not on par with the next group (RV, Canard, Dungey) when they hit their stride. SX might just get exciting again???

Re: Reed NOT racing Steel City
Personally, this stuff is like a bug on the windshield for me (dont' really care).
Only time will tell... but, imho, I think Canard, Dungy, Villo and other's have all the same natural talent as Reed, if not more, and as strong a work ethic, if not more, as they are younger and hungrier.
Granted, Reed worked very hard, through lots of injuries to get to where he is. And, he has way more experience than the younger crop. But, that is his strong card, and the experience gap is the easiest to close. Thus, in due time (perhaps sooner than later... remember McGrath won a big bike tittle in his rookie season), guy like Villo and others may be not only winning races, but titles.
Again, only time will tell, and I could give a rats ass, as I've pretty much resigned myself to only expecting good racing in the lites class. If Villo or others step it up, then great, as I may then become more interested the racing in the so called "premier class" again.

Re: Reed NOT racing Steel City
I bet you guys said this about Reed last year. But I mean last year he kept Stewart honest in the couple races he raced before getting hurt. Reed is fast and I dont think hes going to win no title but maybe some races. There is always mud races, and Stewart is going to fall in a first turn at least once. As for RV Im thinking he will be right up there with Reed and Stewart. I think it will be good between Reed and RV, but for sure Stewart will take the title. O and Grant he is just a BA.

Re: Reed NOT racing Steel City
I hope Reed runs the Number One Plate in SX. The US Open will be really interesting...both Reed and Bubba on new rides out to make a statement: Bubba "I'm the fastest" and Reed "I beat you before and I'm the champ." Could be a great SX year.

Re: Reed NOT racing Steel City
Let me first start by saying Chad Reed is fast...really really fast!
But I think we will see his true colors this year!
Unless injury changes the cards, he IS going to get beat by Bubba and Villapoto!
So..one of two things happen,
1) He whines and complaines, and blames everyone but himself. Then most the people on this site would be correct about him.
or.
2) He likes his team, trys hard, and stays humble about his lossses (like windham last year)! And he proves everyone wrong and represents the sport the way he should!
My gut tells me the option one is almost a guarentee, but I am hoping for option two. It would be better for the sport and would get the press off his butt!
We will see soon!
