For 30 years people rode 2-strokes with big expansion chambers fully exposed. You guys are worried about smashing that tiny little header tube? I'm sure there'll be some pipe guards coming out of the aftermarket. No worries!
This bike is pretty bitchen and definitely makes me question my 2-stroke-ness. But despite being the most innovative Japanese brand, I wouldn't say Honda has always been a step above the rest (nothing personal Zach). When Yamaha busted out with the 400F (and followed it up with the 250F), Honda was not exactly a step above that. It took them a few years to catch up.
But yeah, this thing is f-ing badass!!!
Your right chris, forgot about those years, Yamaha started it, Honda took it the next level.
I really like the look. and i loved my 05 CRF450 for 2 years. But i will be sticking with Kawi again this year. Currently run the 08 450. If Honda paid better contingency like Kawasaki does, i might go Red again. But their payouts are week in comparison to Kawi. Still, sweet ride that i am sure anyone who gets will love.
I can't wait to race against one on my 09 Kawi!!!!!!!

your not going to be able to do away with the header cause the exhaust port is on the left hand side now
everyone kills me with the after market pipes do you realy think the aftermarket people know more about the bikes than the honda gurus.besides with fuel injection just buy the box and it will run better than anything a aftermarket pipe will do.I have tried a lot of different pipes but stock on the hondas always worked the best. just like when everyone was running down header doctor d fmf pro cur they all ended going back to the stock bend so know they put a bomb in the header to make it look different.beside unless your a pro or expert having a little different power delivery is not going to make you any faster anyone that is faster than me is always faster than me no matter what there bike has on it.save your money spend it on some nice colored rims or extra gear.
