I was there just as promised, I can't race RIGHT now AND you have NO idea how much torture that was FOR me. I love that track AND went ALL the way out there AND couldn't race it. Yea, under the circumstances I was there under that race totaly suxed for me. Watching a race on a track you love and not being able to race on it blows, let me be clear about that!
Normaly the track has some more technical stuff built into it as well, I walked the track Saturday and seen it was other than some big tables a fairly good looking layout for someone at my skill level to race on and that just tortured me even more.
It was still E Street for me though even not getting to race. I spent the race day working the gate and trying to just make sure I did everything I could so all of you got a good gate. I hated playing gate police with the rule of no preping your start area in front of the gate. Everytime I had to tell someone move back behind the line I felt bad, everyone was great about it though and nobody had to start backwards. I still tried to make sure on every single gate drop no one would have a bad line to start on. I was pretty religious about checking every gate to make sure it was clear to drop all the way and every start line to make sure nothing was going to mess up your line.
I have no idea how sign ups and scoring or anything else went, I was just in my zone and focused on making sure everyone had a good gate drop since that was my job today.
From my perspective everything went perfect, we got you guys on the line, if anyone was haveing problems we held the gate and I made sure I always went out in front of the gate to hold the race when anyone was having problems. I really left feeling like all of us working the gate and the 30 second board today did so while doing a great job for all of you.
Alot of people got hung up on the gate today, when it happened it was no ones fault but there own. Every single time it happened I could look down the gate and tell before a race even started who was going to get hung on a gate. If anyone (and many did) are reading here who got hung on a gate today, let me give you a suggestion that will hopefully help you in the future. Don't pull up so CLOSE TO the gate WHEN your starting! So many OF you already had your gate hung up before your race even started. I was AT a vantage point were I could look down the line AND see front tires that were already under the gate before your race even started. You guys were cooked before the gate even dropped because it was going TO DROP RIGHT ON top OF your front tire. ALL the guys who got the hole shots were the ones starting the furthest back FROM the gate, every single TIME.
I still even though I can't race right now had a great time out there today. I got to see and spend alot of time talking to all my friends from both sides of the mountain. The only three friends I missed seeing out there were Cameron, and I don't know whats up WITH that sissy girl NOT racing today Todd Nelson gave me Cameron's whiney girl story, alright, what ever Cameron, haven't seen you since FOR ever dude, you could have still come out today TO race just TO hang WITH friends. I missed NOT seeing my other good friend out there James 37X, he's went kind of soft on me as well lately, but at least I got to see his bike out there with Andrew Valdez riding it, even though Andrew suffered the most insane first turn crash I witnessed all day. After seeing that crash Andrew was lucky he wasn't going home IN a body bag. Andrew went down AND a guy ON a Suzuki just hit him side ON AND that Suzuki launched off Andrews arm THEN shot 10 feet straight up INTO the air, it was ugly.
I missed seeing Joey Washburn out there AS well, I'd really have to lay down and complain about that if I was racing, he's lucky AND getting off the hook since I couldn't race and beat him!
I don't know though, FROM my own perspective everything went well, everyone got a good gate AND got TO race. If anyone had issues though about the mixed race thing THEN I'd like to know what they were so we can get them corrected before our next "mixed race" out at Mustang. I only heard two real complaints, one was on how the Division one Division two races were handled and I'll address that WITH

before the NEXT mixed race. It's my understanding the Division split races were not run by the MX West standard everyone was use to, but instead by the standard other tracks deal with scoring split races like this are delt with. I do know dealing with Div 1 and Div 2 races like MX West does has been a point of complication with the software MX West uses. The software is designed to work the way the race went this weekend just because that is the standard most tracks use. In listening to the riders I'm WITH ALL OF you IN agreement that how MX West does it IS the better way AND makes the races fair, despite being a harder way TO score. AT the NEXT MX West OR Sierra Club meeting I'll do my best to argue this point for all of you who get into the Division 1 Division 2 races. The feedback I've gotten though IS IN great favor OF how MX West does it.
I don't know, from my perspective, everything went smooth tonight, Scott told me though he seen some ways things could have been made better from his perspective and he plans to adapt the changes to make things better for everyone next time from his perspective. One big thing he pointed out was he wasn't expecting so many riders. FOR ALL OF us though, even if there were SOME problems associated WITH that which I didn't get to see, it was still a good thing for everyone!
It was a tough race with an expected learning curve behind it trying to make things work for everyone. I was happy to see equal support out there amongst everyone, mainly MX West and Sierra. Seeing the support from everyone certainly made me feel good. The first Sierra only race left a bad taste in my mouth for some personal insight reasons, but seeing everyone out there together, seeing both

and Scott trying to hold onto the same dream I have where we all just work together meant alot to me. I did enjoy seeing all the Reno OTHG guys out there supporting this race. That's what I'm all for and talking about, the guys in the club did make me proud though for showing up at a race that wasn't just one OF their own.
Our NEXT mixed race IS going TO be Mustang, we can't fix anything without your feedback to make it work for everyone. With

its 100% for the riders and thats why I support the new Mustang track as deeply as I do. It's every BIT about talk the talk AND walk the walk there. Good feedback IS great, bad feedback IS even better there because

masterpool IS ALL about just making it better FOR everyone. If anyone has ANYTHING they want TO say, THEN you have a million ways TO give that feedback AND

wants TO hear it. You can feel free TO post it ON ANY OF the message bords, you can use the feedback form ON the mustangmx.com website, you can email me
tony@mustangmx.com you can call the hotline listed ON the website, OR you can just tell

face TO face AT the track what AND how you want things TO be better
It's why I support Mustang as a volunteer as strongly as I do, because it's 100% ALL about making things better FOR everyone who rides AND races AND

wants TO hear everyones feedback. If anyone IS uncomfortable sending IN feedback email it TO me AND I won't give up who you are, but will send in your feedback.
The diehards I see riding Mustang all the time also spanked everyone out at E Street this weekend.
