If its your $$$$$ then you should have every right to race, especially if you can drive.

if its a personal matter and you do not wish to publically state why you live with you grandparents i totally understand! but if you just live with your grand parents and they are sayin no and ur dad is fine and he says yes move in with your dad

or if thats nmot really a logical option, beg and beg and beg and when your 16 you can basically just load up ur bike and leave to a track

Who is paying for your health insurance, what specifically are the grandparent's objection TO your riding/racing, AND what ARE the particulars OF the legal obligations TO your residency WITH them

If you can answer those questions WITH viable AND realistic solutions/responses, THEN you ought TO be able TO initiate a discussion WITH them ON the subject. Going off TO your dad (behind their back) may be just opening a pandoras's box of problems. Don't play one GROUP off against the other IN order TO GET what you ARE after.

Find out their concerns..THEN WORK toward a workable solution FOR ALL parties..it may be money,(most gps ARE ON fixed income) risk OF health/injury OR just NOT familiar WITH motocross. Go slow AND take very little steps so they ARE NOT afraid FOR your safety. Good luck AND be safe AND honest WITH them about what IS involved.

I was 8 in a 10 to 15 year old novice class but 75% of the time i came out in first or second! they build custom choppers ride harleys and they're conserned about my safty! Thats bull i'm not waiting another 4 1/2 years till i start racing again!

Ok, you raise some good points, demonstrates past success. Have you approached them regarding their health and safety Maybe you could approach it as a compromise. Do they have some "modifiable lifestyle changes" which would warrant a change. (Smoking, overweight, sedentary). They could work out with you, participate in your future and success, and their health. They could be young, in the 40's, so use an argument OF they need TO hang aroung FOR the grandkids, AND so ON.

Keep the dialog OPEN AND don't give in yet, but don't come TO a butting OF the heads either. What they really need TO remember,IS that there ARE other things out there TO hurt you apart FROM mx. You might point out that you could be out there getting stoned AND drunk every weekend AND IN trouble WITH the cops. Better they be a part OF your participation IN mx than have something happen AND NOT be there. Don't let them read some of the recent postings though!

Good luck, and keep us posted.
