New Sprocket and Chain suggestions- YZF250

Hi All!
It has come to the time I need to get new sprockets and a new chain. This brings me to two questions, what type of chain should I buy
And I am thinking about going to a bigger rear sprocket and I wanted to see if anyone else has gone to a larger sprocket and what the outcome was. I am thinking about doing this because I find my low end lacks too much to double and triple certain jumps that do not have a go run at them. I have been told to keep the bike in high RPMs by using the clutch through the turn and that would provide me the gusto to clear the jump. But that would require work and being able to properly ride my bike. I would prefer to cheat with a recluse clutch and other things - just joking! Any suggestions on the rear teeth count
Thanks in advance

If your seriously lacking low end go two more teeth in the rear. You'll sacrifice a lil' off the top but it shouldnt matter much with the style of tracks in Nor.Cal.
If you don't have it already you could throw IN SOME aluminum clutch plates TO help the bike rev.quicker (Steel IS heavier thus MORE flywheel effect).
As far AS chains I would go WITH an O OR X ring.
Check out btosports.com they have a Renthal Aluminum sprockets/Chain combo starting @ $99 AND around $30 MORE FOR an O/X Chain.

Make sure you practice once OR twice WITH the new setup before you race WITH it.

Good Luck!

Cat,one tooth smaller in the front is about the same as two teeth larger in the rear but costs a lot less. O-ring chains have a lot of drag and take as much as much as 5hp away from your bike. I think you would be better off to just let your bike wind out as you go up the jump face. Your bike can turn about 13000rpm. That is where all the power is. Practice riding your bike on the top end and get a feel for where the rev-limiter will kick in. Remember your bike is built to scream.

It's a great idea but it really ONLY worked IN the old days WHEN AMA was running everything. Now the promoters apparently won't sit down together so I don't know how this could possibly be agreed TO . Alot OF guys spend $$s FOR pre printed backgrounds AND am sure they wouldn't change unless the color rules were set in cement so to speak.

Check out rocky mountain, I think they have sprocket/chain kits for like $60. I haven't tried them, but AT that price they ARE worth a shot. Also don't get an oring, they have way too much drag for a 250f.

get renthal sprockets, with a gold rk chain, go with 1 tooth more in the back. taking off a tooth in the front is equal to 3 in the back i thought
