I wear the 661 Neck nut because I already have a herniated C6/C7 disc. It was uncomfortable and chafed my neck at first, but I got used to it. I notice if it is NOT on when I race. It is a snug fit between the chest protector and helmet, but that is why I like it. It limits ROM, but not to an extent that interferes with racing visibility. It is hot on the line, but not bad at all while racing. For winter riding, it actually helps prevent freezing your neck.

harvdog,

Did you break your back because your head rotated so far forward, or was it from the direct compression of the landing

BTW- It's so good TO see you up AND moving around. I was really bummed WHEN I READ your story. I mean, I didn't know you until I read the info from your brother, but it just sounded like you were really making things happen, and how tragic to have this occur. So glad you're ON your way again.

I would also LIKE TO know what it's like to run the 1000 since I've been giving this SOME serious thought lately. If you have the TIME AND energy TO WRITE, please have AT it.

Again, good TO see you up AND around!!

Dave

I've been throwing SOME (johnny) cash AT Rocky Mountain ATV lately AND I see IN their latest Transworld MX ad they ARE selling the neck donut. It looks LIKE it attachs TO your helmet via the helmet strap. The "ARC Neck Support." Anyone know anything about them I plan ON buying AT least 2 adult AND 1 child version.

After this HarvDog experience, NO Harvey will be ON a bike without one! AND that's a fact.

I rock the donut everytime i ride, i really would not ride with out it, i wear the new evs one that can zip tie to your chest protector. as you can see from the picture, its barely noticable. i have ridden in 110-115 degree heat, and it didnt make it any hotter than it already was, i like it because it keeps your head from getting whiped around during a crash, or even a whoop section, or coming up short on a jump, if your crashing on the your side, i can see how it would stop your head from slamming into the ground...pros dont even wear chest protectors for supercross, but i bet soon you will see chest protectors and neck braces.
