Re: Seized Rear shock

It is more then likely a frozen bearing in your linkage or lower shock bearing. I have never seen a shock seize up in the 20 years I've been doing suspension work.

Re: Seized Rear shock

Hey thanks for chiming in.. Now that you say that.. it makes alot of sense because i can lift the back of the bike and the shock will move.. but if i sit on it it goes down about a 1/2 inch and stops. .. Ill take apart the linkage to see. Thanks again.. im hoping this is the issue. there is no fluid or anything coming out of the shock.. and it was fine the ride before.. Maybe got some water in the linkage from the quick shot of pressure washing i did when i sprayed it off last time.

Re: Seized Rear shock

Thanks Ricky. If it ends up not being the linkage or a bearing I'll pm you bud. I do most of my own maintenance. Guess I missed something for a little while.

Thumbs up Re: Seized Rear shock

If it is your linkage, Pivot Works makes kits to rebuild it as well as swingarms.
Pivot Works kits for linkages are OK but their stuff for forks has been somewhat unreliable for me.I go with OEM.
