Hangtown Practice

I went to hangtown this weekend, the track was ok(well a litle less than ok, I guess), but what really pissed me off was the mini practice. It is a good idea in theory but it is the stupidest thing ever. When the grand total of 3 mini's ARE done riding, it IS a free FOR ALL ON the track FOR big bikes. It IS so dangerous riding WITH 150+ guys ALL ON the track AT the same TIME. I will NOT be going back TO hangtown until they stop mini practice.(btw most OF the mini's were riding during the big bike practice too)

i herd about this my friend went there and left after only being there for like 30 min i htink they should break up the big bikes too or just put it back to the old way of just ride when ever you want. When there are only 5 minis out there thay should just run them to gether thats what scott dose at e-street and then if there are more later on during the day he spilts them up and then if there are even more big bikes then he splits them up too but this hasent happend in a wile.

You have a very valid point, if the mini's ARE practacing WITH the big bikes AND they feel comfortable doing that, Great! But If there ARE those few kids that don't have the confidence level to be on the track at the same time as 150+ big bikes they should be given the opportunity to have some track time as well. Being a parent of a kid on a 50cc bike, I see the other side of this. I am not trying to make anyone mad but you have to understand they split it up for safety issues. I have seen so many complaints about how the big bike beginners should not be on the track at the same time as intermediate/novice riders. Why should little bikes have to be on the track at the same time as the big bikes
We used to have our own night at Hangtown to practice and they took that away and now it is all on the same night.
If you ask me..... that was good idea in theory but a very stupid idea!

The track was perfect Hardly, I got there saturday morning at 9, and over half of the track wasnt even watered. It was all flat with no ruts. Sunday was a lot better. Maybe I am bitter because on my first lap after mini practice(on Sunday), about six of us went off the table top in the back at the same time. The two guys infront of me hit in the air and crashed right infront of me. I had no where to go so I nailed one of their bikes, I got up to run off the track then my bike comes back and tags me in the back and gets stuck on my lower body. I cant move because my bike is on top of me, and I am stuck on a blind jump landing. BTW YOUR CAPSLOCK KEY IS STUCK ON, OR ARE YOU TRYING TO YELL OVER THE INTERNET...some people...

I think minis should still have their own night. What I am getting at is, it is now more dangerouse for all of the big bikes because everyone rushes onto the track at once, if there was no mini practice the crowd would thin out. If they are going to split up practice I think they should do minis, pro/int/nov and beg/vet. Also on saturday there were 3 mini riders, thats right 3! On Sunday I think there were maybe 5-10, not really sure I didnt look. Now if there are more mini riders, then I think practice should be split up.

We don't have our own night anymore! We used TO have Tuesday nights AND they stopped doing it. I agree WITH you- if the 3 mini riders were riding WITH ALL OF the big bikes THEN they should NOT split the mini's into their own practice. For safety issues they should split the practice's up by your riding ablitly. Don't get mad at the mini's!!!They ARE just AS addicted TO this sport AS ALL OF you big guys! What need's to happen is better organization by the promoter's!

Congratulations, you have been granted the award for most useless/retarded/unenlightening post ever.

If they are going to give the minis their own practice they need to split up the big bikes aswell. There were too many riders and too many different skill levels all on the track after the mini practice ended. My vote is for them to designate a mini night like before.

cmon guys, chill out. Hangtown I think was cool on Sturday, I was flyin' ON my brad new yz. The minis practiced while the track was being re-watered, so what the hey if they wana do that, thats fine. It was a tiny dusty but it was reeeally cool. Just my opinion..

dont beat around the bush , tell em what you think '')

Letting mini riders out with full size bikes is a bad idea . I believe a mini rider should be faster than 75% of the big bikes on the track to ride the same session , IF AT ALL . The size differential and risk of serious injury is too great to let 80's AND smaller ON the track AT the same TIME . a mini night IS the way TO go . WHEN you split a regular practice , WITH mostly big bikes( 90% aprox ), AS we did AT club moto AT FIRST , it was a big race every TIME a new practice went out AND crashes were MORE frequent . Club moto now has family night ON wednesday AND the ratio IS probably 60/40 big TO little bicks so the little guys GET a good amount OF TIME AND the tracks NOT a madhouse WHEN the big bikes go out . mini riders ARE the future OF our sport AND too many OF them have been seriously injured AND killed recently .
