California Motocross Park California's Premier Motocross Park

Some new shots of Sherman, Kelly and others on the CMP site, along with an aerial of the current track.

Re: California Motocross Park Information

Any updates yet? Also so it is 100% sure this is going to open up, like you guys have enough money and city isn't against anything?

Also is there any possibility it might be open this summer?

Also what kind of dirt are you going to have there?

Thanks

Things are going really well; we are at the end of the approval process for our permit, but still have more time to wait (can you believe it?)

The use (Public assembly, race/practice facility, motorsports) is a permitted use, so Placer County is very supportive. YES, it is for sure (100%) that we are coming, we just are not there yet...like field of dreams - we will build it so you can come. The money to build it? ABSOLUTELY...We not only have lined up our construction loan, but our takeout financing (it is like playing Monopoly, but more intense!) and are already out selling our naming rights and whatnot...it is getting to be the fun part.

Yes...our goal is to open in a limited capacity (without the stadium being completed) but with the flush toilets, covered track, supermoto track, a couple of mx tracks and the bmx track...once the infrastructure is in, the tracks and landscaping is easy...I would open TODAY, but have only a limited permit for our test track

BROWN dirt (that always washes out of your gear and comes easily off of the hard to get to places on your bike by just pointing the hose at it) that is really powdery in the summer time...we have been able to play with it since July and have found that with the right amount of tractor work and just enough water, the dirt is like riding on a golf green (not that I have done that, THAT's illegal!) or farmland...it also gets ugly and has a mean personality if you ignore it...I have learned the various internet forums and especially this one, that there will lots of people that will like it and probably more that won't - For $20 you will get a variety of tracks in a variety of levels to try...if it isn't your cup of tea, ride the supermoto track or rent a shifter kart...we will do our best to please everyone...if that doesn't do it for you, go hang out in the restaurant, club bar or hit Starbucks - TV, closed circuit video of all the tracks...gee whiz, as long as it's prepped...dirt is dirt Keep the faith, we're running as fast as we can to get open.

Rain + Dirt = MUD. MUD x hp = stuck. LOTS of Rain over MUD = NASTY MUD

If we were open to the public and pumped the miscellaneous puddles off the track today, we could be open and ridable tomorrow (see Kirk at Club's various posts...even with engineering of a cool drainage system, unless you cover 13 acres of dirt, it is going to get wet). I have buried my suburban up over the hood on our road, so yes, dirt and water over an extended period of time makes things ugly.

Pull up a chair and grab something to drink:

If you can SEE my track (and hopefully you were just generalizing about the area), you are riding or driving where you don't belong. I own from Athens Road to the Power Poles (1 mile in length) and everything else contains "wetlands" and "waterways of the USA", places you should not be and DO NOT want to get caught in by the FEDS...Placer Ranch is between the power poles and the houses (where "everybody rides") and everything else is in contract or for sale with documents that show where the environmental issues are - if you are trying to HELP get CMP approved and other tracks in California or any other area to EVER open in the future, YOU and others like you need to stay off of private property. I am not on a soapbox, just stating the facts. Dirt bikes and lifted wanna be wheelers do not help the cause...if YOU DO NOT OWN THE DIRT YOU ARE RIDING ON, STAY OFF. Riding on Railroad right of ways, construction sites, vacant fields, golf courses and other attractive areas that beckon a Dunlop make everyone with a dirtbike in their truck look like a trouble maker to those that don't ride (Barbara Boxer to name just one). There have been more than 100 times since July that I have met trespassers on my track - not people that came in the front gate, but across hundreds of acres of open space on a dirt bike, quad or go kart, past more than 50 "No Trespassing" or "Private Property" signs (or the remains of them underneath tire tracks)...if we, the 2 wheeled community, are not careful, we will lose the right to ride completely.

Yes...our dirt gets wet and at times during the 23 days of winter weather Placer County usually gets, it can suck up a truck if you are not careful.

Tread Lightly, Leave No Trace and if you can't stop, smile as you go under my 4x4...

$20? 15 min from my house? I am so there! Even if I didn't know how to ride at all I would learn so I could go there!
