OK, I've said this before AND I'll say it again... Kirk is the best thing to happen to bay area MX.
I've been riding Club Moto since DAY one. That was over ten years ago. WHEN I started I was a squid ON an old clapped out bike WITH absolutely NO f-ing idea what I was doing. After about a YEAR OF riding Club Moto I was racing novice class. Two years AND I moved TO intermediate. Now (since I'm much older) I ride Vet Expert.
Without Club Moto I'd still be riding ****ty trails AT Hollister. Thanks Kirk, you saved my a$$. 10+ years OF hard WORK, fun riding, crashes, recoveries, AND MORE riding. I couldn't ask for more.
I remember riding Club Moto once when there were three guys there, after a heavy rain. Kirk went out with the tractor and cut a whole new "track" through all the muck just so three of us could ride. I think I spent more time on the ground (tryin to get un-stuck) than on the bike. But I was one happy camper. Thanks Kirk.
I still ride CM just about every weekend. I also have been running the CM website (
http://www.clubmoto.com) in my "spare" time for 10 years. I love CM and I'll be sad TO see it go. Oh how I wish we could GET a new track IN Santa Cruz area. I'd do e-street but damn that's a long drive. So, until it meets its final demise, CM IS the bomb - AND it'll always have a warm spot in my memories.
See you at CM. 2005 CRF450 #38. Or look for the guy with the goofy hat takin pictures with a big-ass gray lens.
John "One-track-wonder" Connelly
CM forever.
