I don't understand why there are NEVER any updates to your own web site. When this site was down for a few days I could'nt remember what you race dates were. I went to your site and it has not changed a hair since you opened up shop. No track picks ,no Race dates ,nothin. It might attract attention to your track if you had photos of new track sections ,photos of how well it is prepped and that sort of thing.

Depending on your race attendance, consider moving everything back one hour (gates at 7, practice at 9).
CMA does this and their races usually finish well before dark. Why get up at the crack of dawn if you don't have to? It makes it much easier for people who don't camp and have to drive a fair amount. Because of CMA's schedule I find I can drive to and race many of their events that I wouldn't otherwise do (since I don't camp the night before).
I'm only 1.5 hours from San Jose, but with that schedule I have to get up at 5 and leave the house by 5:45 to get their in plenty of time to unpack and get ready. As a result there is no one in my family willing to go with me. But if things started later a few more family members would come as well as people from farther away (i.e., more gate fee for the promoter).
If you are trying to build up a nice series, make it easy on the participants until your number of motos makes it so you have to start early!
One more thing, the promoter who has been doing TT races at the Hollister Hills GP Track is going to promote an MX race on the 17th of December. Consider getting on touch with those people and setting up a series. I for one will always choose to race at Hollister Hills GP over pretty much anywhere else!

I Went To Santa Clara On Wedesnday Because I Kept Hearing How Great It Was, And It Was Promised To Be "preped" Well. The Dirt Wasn't Tilled At All. It Looked Like A Tractor Just Drove Over The Whole Track, And Just Left Track Marks Everywhere. It Was Like Riding A Whoop Section The First Few Laps. Kinda Sucked

Now there is a great way to attract attention to your track. Argyll part 2.

The web site should be updated soon.
I'm pretty upset about the website not being updated and looking so lame too. The owners use a certain web guy for their other businesses and they keep telling me he will get to it but it doesn't happen. I will try harder to get on their case about it, god knows we need a better page.

I'm happy to see that you are trying so hard to make it work there. Why don't you have see if "the web guy" can just set up a blog-type page and give you access? Then you can easily add entries w/o relying on the wed dude.
As for the comments about prep, etc. Maybe you ought to consider having a "full-prep" on Tues/Thur/Sat and make sure it always happens and people can count on it. As someone who rides, I'm sure you know how bummed out you can get if you expect a track to be good and it isnt. Then on the other days just water and fix jump faces and leave it at that. I for one am not bothered by an unprepped track if I know it is going to be that way (but you have to water to keep the dust down). That way people will know what to expect and you don't burn yourselves out.
As another idea, maybe you could setup the track so that certain areas could be easily cut out so you could prep parts for the next day while people are riding. That way the track changes a lot (since you aren't riding the whole thing all the time), yet you still have time to prep nicely. Did that make sense?
