Kx250f Problems
Alright, i decided to get my bike so i could start riding again, the bike(2005 kx250f) will idle when the chokes on and then when the chokes off it just keeps dying out. ive done the valve, rejetted, cleaned the carb. anything else? oh yeah and when it starts it smells like its burning. but the bike starts perfect with choke on, theres coolant, oils fresh, both filters are clean, new plug. and its still ride-able and the power feels the same, and yes im warming it up

The plate on your carb slide is probably upside down...or you still have a clogged pilot.

I'd go back and recheck the carb. Maybe you missed something or??? Did it run ok before you worked on the carb?

idle?
Not to be too obvious, but have you adjusted the idle higher?
Sometimes we do so much, we miss the little things.

try try again
sounds like you got it all covered, try replacing the whole bike.
kidding saeco, theres obviously something that was missed, I just had that same problem with my daughters little 80. it would start with the choke or if i left the throttle off, but as soon as i gave it gas it would die.
I pulled the carb apart and found just a spec of dirt in the pilot jet hole and i mean a spec!!!! carb clean it all out and air psi it and it worked great.
If your carb dried out from sitting for awhile its gonna have crud in it.
