Neck Protection: Leatt Neck Brace

Alot has been talked about lately on this subject matter (No Title Thread) and to give perspective on everything and show everyones opinion so we dont have to post it all over again, here are the NCMX Links:

http://www.norcalmotocross.com/forum...rotection.html

and

http://www.norcalmotocross.com/forum...n-12-mins.html

Both Joey and myself have been working on getting a message to Leatt USA Corporation in order to find out if they have any interest what-so-ever in providing us a bulk purchase option so we can offer this product to the members at large of NCMX and other MX Racing Clubs including OTHG chapters, Dirt Diggers, Ole Timers, and any others that show an interest. I think that NCMX can be the liason for this challenging endeavor but we need to be organized in our relationship with Leatt.

I know for a fact that they (Leatt) have been overwhelmed since the posting of the David Bailey video, (which is a great thing) and I spoke directly with Leatt this morning trying to get ahold of 'the man'. They have since refferred all of their phone calls to their website page because of this additional influx of calls and are only taking messages now.

If we can at least get a response from them as to if they will do this type of transaction with us then it would help considerably. Until that time we may need to get a feel for how many people are REALLY considering spending in essence between $275-$300 for this product (im only guessing at that rate of reduction for the base model) and are willing to come to the table with the money when the time comes. If we cannot put together a presentable amount of people then it will really will be of no use to Leatt to provide any group discount what-so-ever. Their product will sell itself.

This may be an opportunity to save 50-$100 on this product if we can support some good numbers to them. If you have to purchase multiple braces then this can be a substantial savings....

Im only posting this for interest sake, not for debating the uses of this product. All the debates are on the other links. Thank You

Update

I have spoken with Geoff Patterson who is the USA director for Leatt Corp. He believes our idea is a very good one and would be a very sound business venture for Leatt to embrace but he cannot make the final decision as to whether anything can be offerred at this point. He has refferred me to the people in South Africa with his backing.

He says again that they have been totally overwhelmed since the David Bailey video thing came out. So it is a good thing overall for the sport.

Now that we have made contact, maybe we can get something done but it will not be overnight so hang in there.

Thanks

Put me down for two. One for me and a child size for my son.

I want to ride with one before I commit 100%, but more than likely I'd be in for two (Me and Garrett)
