R speed and Altamont raceway info

This is to clear the air on the raceway law suit from previous post.



I just got off the phone with Mark Rivard from R speed and what he has told me cleared up alot of the rumors, It sounds as if Mark never wanted it to go this far he tried working with the raceway and they wanted nothing to do with making it right for everyone the Altamont crew has done everything possible to scare them into selling there home and Mark has video and police reports to back up his story, It is some wild west crazy stuff (pointing huge lights at his house, sounding horns in his driveway, Scaring his wife and daughter and more.) this was all before the law suit was filed Mark put his track there and home so no one would complain about his own motocross track and was not being unreasonable with altamont because he knows if altamont closes down his riding days on his own track are short lived.What he was trying to do was set a schedule and keep it if they are going to stop at 11pm on saterday nights than do it don't run everday run the days you said on the schedule.

These are all great points that Mark had made to me and I would have to agree you only can be pushed so far.. Sorry for not hearing both sides of the story completely before mentioning it on Norcal Mark. you have always threw done a cool place to ride and I miss riding R Speed..

Well Mark lives in Disneyland compared to me!!

1. Drunk driver in my yard doing donuts.
2. Gang shoot out next door.
3. Achy breaky heart (spanish version)played till 2:00am every weekend.
4. Militant security guard freaks cause he thinks we knocked down his plastic chicken wire fence with our dirt bikes. (the wind did it)
5. Lots of helicopters buzzing house.
6. Security guard plays spotlight game too!
7.Hells Angels take over my street once a year.
8.Almost got eaten by a police dog in my yard cause i fit the description of a car thief.(Black hat, white shirt, black shorts)
9.And now my super secret sand track is gonna be houses.

I DONT APPROVE OF TACTICS that invades a families right to privacy. My questions are why are not the authorities/County DA doing a thing if evidence has been taped, photo'd, or however obtained to make court dates for these complaints? Why aren't the authorities or county officials present to check that Altamont is complying with its contract with the county since the info says they consistently run past curfew if complaints are being made in an on-going basis? And the fact that their privacy is being invaded and that why not officials from any service agency go undercover to see what the speedway is doing to check out the Rivard's complaints? Sure seems like a lot of infractions seem to be occurring and Mr. Rivard is getting no help from local authorities and county lawmakers in his area? I have a hard time with the authorities, the county DA, etc. looking the other way which it seem like their doing.

Normally, good businessmen do not discuss upcoming litigation with good friends or anyone not named in the suit. But people in the middle of litigation never give out all the information except the "I've done everything possible" version, if any info at all. I'm sure council has told Mr. Rivard what, if anything he can comment on.

I have no beef, nor do I know Mr. Rivard. But look at the Honey Lake newspaper article and come to find out, NO bills or payment demands were ever sent to the Wosicks. And one supervisor just outright wanted their permits pulled ASAP because County council told the newspaper 3 demands of payment were sent; ooops, none were. Because of a one sided story.

I wish I could hear directly from Mr. Rivard and the Altamont Speedway. But we know that's not going to happen. I also understood that Mr. Rivard tried to bid for the speedway sometime ago and his bid was not accepted. Is that correct?

I hope that both parties, when they have their day in court, follow the court's ruling and get this matter resolved.
