Wheelies in the pits

Why is it that people think it is okay to attempt to do wheelies in the pits or race to their trucks? Come on people and KBs (Kooter Bobs). I feel like frogger just going to the damn bathroom and these Aholes are feelin like Robby Knievel doing the parade wheelie prior to his attempt to jump over 12 running helicopters. I have in the past thrown water bottles at these KBs, but I really wish some common sense could be explained to Robby prior to his world record attempt. Please look out for the two little boys walking with mom to the track or lunch wagon and I hope some track owners read and install some type of anti wheelie devise or wheelie bars on KBs bike.

I'm trying to figure out the benefit of throwing a water bottle at someone riding a wheelie through the pits..As if riding a wheelie throught the pits isn't dangerous enough, your under the impression throwing a water bottle at them while it's happending is somehow better? Makes me wonder who the idiot is.

Wheelies in the pits? What tracks do you see this at? I cant recall seeing someone doing wheelies in the pits of a track. And what is a "Kooter Bob"? The official name of someone who Kooter dives

Re: Wheelies in the pits

Its interesting to read this post because I usually have very little to offer on here but here goes....Afew weeks ago at the 2nd round of CMA Bounty Hunters I have my childs life flash before my eyes due to idiots in the pits I was rolling thru towards the gate and my wife, 14 yr old nephew, 9 yr old daughter and 4 yr old son were not far behind on foot when kids racing back to refuel b4 his gate dropped decides his entry fee is more important than anything and rips down the chute area totally out of control shifts to 3rd and rides into a wheelie........almost right over my bars I am by far more experienced on street (full dressed cruisers) then dirt but reaction was the same and I without thinking dumped him into and ultimately over the six foot fence adjacent to us. He was shaken but not hurt......it was an accident but still the pits have become a horrible place considering the family envolvement the sport bring. Mind you the same day a 50cc little tyke racing back and forth past by truck in the pits bounced a considerable distance off my rear wheel of my truck while his parents encouraged his warming up. I know the promoters say 1st gear to from the pits to the gate @ your race but it seems that our race fees dont cover enforcement of all the rules just some of them. But since the charge spectators to the should protect them as well.

Sorry for the length but I have come to a point where I prefer to leave the family at home to protect them and save the gate fee as well.

Re: Wheelies in the pits

i dont know what tracks and races you guys have been going too, but i havent seen any wheelies in forever..

but last week i did see a grone(sp) man at Dixon hit 4th gear in the pits warming up his bike before he hit the track.. luckly hardly anyone was there but still i was thinking he is the reason why tracks are getting closed down.. i dont see the point of hauling a$$ through the pits to warm up your bike when the track you are at has a couple 4th gear straights..?!?!

it would be like going down a neighborhood street at 50mph to get your car at optimal temperature before you went out on the highway..

doesnt make any sence...

Well... it does if the guy can go faster in the pitss then on the track.

I've noticed that the gooners who blast through the pits are total spodes on the track. And, vice-versa. The really fast guys putt through the pitss. Hmmmm... wonder why that could be???

Yeah... since it's flat and hard, it's the only place I can go fast. Jumps, ruts, and berms scare me.
