the Carnegie round was already scheduled for round 3 . round 2 ( hollister ) will be rescheduled at a latter date . If you knew how hard the state is to work with , you would understand .

That's a good point.

What's the real deal with why Hollister is not used more often

Well, I read it that the Hollister round is already rescheduled and it is at Club Moto in Feb instead of Hollister.

It's nice that a publicly owned resource basically sits idle. AND even better IS USING our own money against us TO make it hard TO use said resource.

Hey Kirk (and motowest),

If you don't mind me asking, what specifically ARE the issues IS it sound, liability, environmental issues

I mean, there's a lower ranch that is always buzzing with motorcycle activity...the GP track is just a mile away from this.

Would it make a difference if the race bikes held to the 96dB standard

Dave

Hey guys,

We understand where you are coming from regarding Hollister. Kirk made a good point and that should give you an idea. Plus, the track will not be any better in a couple of weeks anyway. Check the weather forecast and that will explain it. I dont think Hollister will take much more rain after this weekend. There are further details as to why. If you really want that information, contact Matt Lorenzo personally at 408-489-9505. We dont particulary like to discuss business on a message board.

Oh by the way, I was up late last night and listed Carnegie in Brentwood, I have since changed that to Tracy. Sorry bout the confusion. However, you all know where Carengie is anyway.

Hope to see you next weekend at Carnegie.

Brad

Hey All,

I'm new TO your GROUP but have been following it FOR a couple OF months now. I thought I'd chime in on the "situation" at HH GP track. My involvement with a vintage racing club is how I've acquired my information ON this topic.

The basic issue WITH the GP track IS solely noise levels. The State IS required TO monitor the noise levels AT a variety OF locations around the park. The problem WITH this IS that one OF the noise monitors IS very near the GP track. If you haven't noticed they have been really cracking down on illegal exhausts for the last couple of months at the lower ranch. There are local residents who monitor the noise levels on their system as well which only adds to the problem of putting on a race, even with the 96db levels required.

IMO every rider at the park who is trying to skirt the rangers will A, eventually get caught and fined as well as B, only make it more difficult for all of us to enjoy our sport there.

There are a lot good folks at HH willing to help us and trashing them on venues like this won't help the situation. Hopefully this will help WITH the questions AND won't get me "trashed" within the group either. I really enjoy riding both modern and vintage stuff and would like to keep it that way.

Bob
