Re: air filters

Yeah, I wash the bike last and don't start it again for days. Filter is dry by then. If I rode more often I would use duct tape.

Re: air filters

Or. take the air filter out, put one of those airbox covers on it, duct tape, and no water.

Re: air filters

Put a big ziplock bag or freezer bag over your filter before washing it.

Re: air filters

Use Duct tape to cover your airbox vents and pipe. After you wash your bike you really should clean and reoil your filter just incase you got any water on it.

Re: air filters

I think it's best to take your seat and air filter off and use a TwinAir airbox cover. This way your filter stays dry but also your seat foam stays dry. The seat foam will break down over time if you are getting it wet. The foam doesn't dry, it just stays wet forever.

Alternatively, I have used heavy duty plastic wrap with one side kind of sticky that is sold at RV stores to protect the carpet. Just remove the seat and put a piece of this stuff over the airbox covering all of the airbox vent openings. Wah-lah, dry filter... clean bike.
