Chicks, quads, and bikes at Steel City

According to this article: WMA and ATV to Join Steel City MX - MotorcycleUSA.com Quads and the WMA will race the same weekend as the Pro bikes will.

It'll be interesting to see what the lap times are for the quads compared to the bikes, assuming they utilize the same track. Since quads tend to push the surface dirt high in the corners and polish the track flat, I would presume that quite a bit of track prep will be needed to get it ready for the bikes. They've only given themselves from 12:10 to 1:25 to do so on Saturday; is that possible?

If they can pull it off without screwing up the track for the Pro bikes, this could be a good thing for the Nationals. Adding spectators for the quads and WMA only increases the overall fan base of all 3 events, and the promoters would certainly benefit too.

Any other opinions?

Re: Chicks, quads, and bikes at Steel City

I think that its great that they are having all 3 events on Sunday, although I'd want to see the effect quad racing has on the track. Its awesome that the WMA pros get to race on Sunday, women's MX could really use more exposure to help grow the participant and fan base in order to secure the future and prosperity of women's involvement in the sport. I think that spectators are the ones who gain the most benefit by having more racing action and less downtime throughout the day.
