New Bike, Club Moto, East Bay Motosports...
First I'll complain than I'll Congratulate. East Bay Motosports Sucks! I wanted to buy my son a new Suzuki RM85. My friend that lives in Illinois is a Suzuki Dealer (ProSource) and sponsers my son. He'll give me a brand new 2008 RM85 shipped to my door for $2750. The only problem is he doesn't have a new 2008 in stock and it will take about three weeks to receive it. Knowing that I'll have to pay more money I decided to buy one anyway from a local dealer since we just moved here and I would like to establish some kind of relationship with a local dealer. I called East Bay and the salesman told me he had a new one at his other location and if I wanted it he would send someone to pick it up. He gave me an OTD price and I told him I would be there with cash as soon as he had the bike at his location. Everythings good so far. I than remembered that the RM comes in a big wheel which is too big so I called him back and sure enough it's a big wheel. He tried to talk us into it saying my son would GROW into it in a year or so and I should just buy it anyway. I told him no thanks and I would try elsewhere. He calls me back about 10 minutes later and tells me that he found me a bike and can have it here that day. Everything is good again. I drive to East Bay, the bike is there, my son is all excited that he's getting a new bike. Everything is still good. Than I meet the salesman...I walk up and he tells me that it will cost $100 more because someone had to go and pick the bike up from another dealer and it's costing them more money. His attitude was that he did me this huge favor by getting me this bike and I should pay the extra $100 and be grateful for their services. He told me that if I bought the bike he would make sure that I'm well taken care of in the parts department. So now I'm really pissed off but my son excited about the bike and I'm not going to take it away from him now that he's sat on it. I can well afford the $100 and even though it was a shadey way to handle a business deal I thought that a local parts connection would be good in the long run. My son picked out a gear bag and off to the parts department we went. The bag is rung up and my whooping discount was a grand total of $5.00. I was than told that they could give me 10% off of some things that I buy but they were being very vague as to what that actually was. I just spent over $3000, they slimed there way to another $100 and the taking care of me in the parts department was a joke. I'll NEVER go to East Bay Motorsports again and that extra $100 bought them a huge amount of bad advertising. Club Moto...They new layout is great. The jumps are awesome, the track was well prepped, and the reverse layout flows perfectly. Thanks Kirk! Here's some pictures on our brand new tainted $100 extra RM85.

Re: New Bike, Club Moto, East Bay Motosports...
that sounds like East Bay to me.. im sorry you had a bad experience..
my cousins gf used to work there and when she went to go buy a couple of bikes her "discount" was pretty much what they give everyone.. no discount..
my dad was working in the area and stopped by to see what their prices were.. well they were outrages and asked what their OTD price was on 250f and if they could beat Mach1's price.. their answer was "we'll get your info and run your credit and see what rate you qualify for"... wtf kind of answer is that..
thats why i never go there and will never go there and will nrver recommend anyone to go there..

East bay is a joke.
Last year I was thinking about buying a new suzuki 250f. I asked them what their price would be on an RMZ250.
They told me they didnt carry KTM..
Never been back.

A bit off-topic but I can't stop chuckling every time I see your new avatar, Darsey. It's hella cool!
PS: I had a bad experience at EBM once when I asked for a stock replacement needle for my carb (I once bought a Canadian model bike from Motorcycle-Brokers and wanted to bring the carb back to USA specs).
The guy behind the counter was still "searching" for it on the computer after about 10 minutes so I told him not to bother. I can find that sh*t on Bikebandit.com in about 45 seconds (1.5 minutes tops - with dial-up).

Re: New Bike, Club Moto, East Bay Motosports...
I'll add my E. Bay story into the mix. About 3 yrs ago, when I was in the market for a new bike, I saw an adverstisement in the paper by E. Bay regarding their last years models... basically, stating the exact sales price. So, I called up to ask about the 04 RM 250... if they had one in stock... and they said they had one on the floor. So, I drove over there from Marin.... the time I hung up the ph to the time I was there was about an hour. Well... I get there, and guess what?? Yeah... no RM 250. The salesman says: but, I've got other bikes.
So, I say OK... I'll take the YZ, which was also a great bike that year. I paid cash, and out the door I went. A few weeks later I get the registration from the DMV, and it shows E. Bay Motorsports as a lienholder. I'm like, wtf??, as I paid cash. I called them up, and they gave me the run-around with different people for about 20 minutes on the ph. I finally got some yahoo that said it would be no big deal, I just need to go down to DMV and explain the situation and they'll issue new paperwork. Long story short, I had to threaten the owner Phil Acton (huge A hole) with legal recourse if they didnt send me a clean title asap. I eventually got it, but the slimmyness, dishonesty, etc coming from that place is what makes people hate dealerships. They are the bad apple in the bunch for sure. I would never buy anything from that dealer again, even if it was the cheapest price in town.
