Senators Letter of Defiance

This is an actual letter from Sen. Adam Kline (WA) to one of his constituants: Please read this and understand that this is the mentality of many people that are representing our democracy in this country

From: Kline, Sen. Adam

Subject: RE: Possible NC: SB 5544

Dear Mr. Helgeson,

I signed on (to the bill) because I have been annoyed, endangered, and angered one too many times by people riding motorized dirt-bikes and other off-road vehicles that have no damn business anywhere. To me, this bill is narrow--it doesn't include those "personal watercraft," seemingly jet-powered little missiles whose only apparent purpose is to risk death and dismemberment for boaters and swimmers, for the amusement of spoiled drunk teenagers.

Yes, I am sure there is the occasional responsible person who rides one of
these machines on land or water. And yes, like every human being I have
been pleasantly surprized to find my stereotypes broken. But why, why, why, do folks insist on motorized "sports"? Those two words are an oxymoron. There is nothing sporting--athletic, physically demanding--about riding any machine anywhere. And it's a damned annoyance to folks who see the outdoors as a place to go for quiet and solitude and self-exploration. I would be happy to ban the use of the internal combustion engine off-road, by anyone without a handicapped sticker, subject to a stiff fine. Maybe we could call this an anti-obesity measure.

Please circulate this to all motorized sports enthusiasts, so they can
remember never to vote for me.

Adam Kline

Maybe I can move there so I can use my "handicapped card", get a bike and putt around this dude. So stupid the amount of land that off-roaders get to use for recreation in our state. It's pretty insignificant compared to the overall amount of lands available for our use. I had heard about this or someone else had posted before. At least its not only us moron dirt bikers causing him headaches. I think he needs a permanent vacation from society.

Just by reading the words into this guys mind and the way he expresses himself, what a tragedy. This guy most likely has never put it on the line. If you know what I mean. Life is to short not to take fun calculated risks. If you enjoy "being" safe your whole life, cool with me. But do not ever incorporate your BS on people who want to live a little.

Wow! This guy needs to go back to school and resolve whatever issues he has with What most boys and men do, exciting, daring, thrill seeking activities. Thats an awful amount of anger I sense in that letter, sounds to me like his inner child needs a hug or something. Oh, and far as the forest being for "self exploration", most people do that at home
